Messages From Minister Server
Hip Hop Kulture; where do we go from here?!
Last
November 11th, the Hip Hop community celebrated the 37th Anniversary of Hip Hop
being recognized as a culture! Nuff respect and eternal gratitude to Afrika Bambaataa and the Universal Zulu Nation for
their vision to establish a foundation
for an international culture where people could use the elements of Breakin’,
Emceein’, Deejayin’, Graffiti and Knowledge, to achieve Peace, Unity, Love and
having Fun! Today Hip Hop Kulture empowers millions of Hiphoppas all around the
world to express themselves in many creative and remarkable ways, beyond
entertainment!
According to the United Nations, “Hip Hop is the fastest growing culture in the world”! Imagine how far Hip Hop Kulture can go when Hiphoppas realize HOW to utilize our gifts, talents and creativity to achieve our collective goals! What are Hiphoppas willing to actually DO to make it happen?!
As Hiphoppas, I believe it’s our RESPONSIBILITY to use and teach the elements of Hip Hop Kulture as life strategies for self-identification; self-improvement; and self-empowerment, which leads to social change for people in OUR communities!
To assist us in this process, here are a few suggestions for Hiphoppas to consider:
“Minister Server’s Seven (7) Suggestion for Hip Hop Empowerment”
1. Recognize that Hip Hop is nothing new; it’s an expression of creative elements
that have empowered people for thousands of years in various cultures.
2. Realize that Hip Hop Kulture is designed to help you improve your life; you learn
about it to manifest its power in your life.
3. Don’t believe the negative information about Hip Hop; do your own
research, study the culture, history, arts and people that created it.
4. Decide what elements of Hip Hop Kulture you will specialize in, practice
your craft and study the lessons of the masters of those elements.
5. Decide what contributions you will make to Hip Hop Kulture and become
actively involved with Hip Hop organizations in your community.
6. Learn, study and teach the Hip Hop Declaration of Peace; recognize that you
are part of an international culture.
7. Share positive information about Hip Hop Kulture, beyond entertainment with your
peers in everyday conversations.
Now is a great opportunity for Hiphoppas to not only remember how dope things were in the “Golden Era” of Hip Hop, but to also think about how Hip Hop Kulture has positively affected the world, in less than forty years without force or a formal plan! Let us rediscover, recommit and return to the essence of Hip Hop Kulture! There are no accidents, the real question Hiphoppas need to ask ourselves is, where does Hip Hop Kulture go from here?! Hiphoppas; let us hear your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and solutions! Remember, the future belongs to those that prepare for it TODAY, Word!
